Thanks for the post from Hal Potter
After last year’s ridiculous heating bills, we decided that we would invest some time in preparing our house for winter ahead of time. So last weekend, my husband and I went out to the home improvement store and stocked up on insulation, new filters, and even a brand new storm door.
When we got home, we got started right away and started installing the new insulation and adding the storm door to the front of our house. We also spent some time cleaning up the furnace and getting rid of dust and dirt that had built up, which we’re hoping will help it to run better and more clearly this year. I also called my brother over and had him take a look at the backup generator, just to make sure it’s still in working order. He said it looked good, but that we may need a new one in a few years. If it can get us through this winter though, I’d be happy!
All of the improvements we made should definitely help us to keep our heating costs down this winter, and we couldn’t be any happier about it. Once we had finished, we got carryout pizza and sat down to watch some satellite television from BestChoiceTV.com to celebrate our success. With the money we’ll save on heating, we can afford the vacation we want!
